Tom Ritz | Spiritual Director and Wilderness Guide

I earned a BA in Christian Ministry and Theology from Vanguard University. I have spent the years following working jobs with regular people and gaining unique skill sets that shape what I bring to the world today.  I believe this journey has given me a distinct perspective when engaging the crossover of our physical and spiritual worlds.

I grew up in the mountains of a small town in California, surrounded by beauty and gaining a deep appreciation for nature as teacher at a young age. I am an Eagle Scout and have a deep reverence for the wild. 

I love to go backpacking, whether that be a solo trip, one with friends, directee's or my family of two young boys and lovely wife. I enjoy fishing, hiking, foraging mushrooms and native berries from the Pacific Northwest, gardening while utilizing permaculture practices, spending time on the river and wandering waterways on my SUP board.

I had the honor of  running a Hikers Guild through my church for some years, where I took novice and experienced folks alike out on a variety of trails, to make hiking and wilderness exposure accessible and rooted in all of our innate spiritually.

I have completed SoulFormation’s Academy of Spiritual Formation and their School of Spiritual Direction where I became a certified Spiritual Director.  I look forward to helping awaken your soul to the joys and grace the Holy Spirit has for you.
